Roger is an experienced Non-Executive Director and Adviser and former Head of M&A Asia Pacific. Experience includes- over 25 years creating and leading one of the most successful Asian businesses in the industry- strategic advice and analysis of new market opportunities- various non-executive and board roles in Asia and the UK- a clear track record on diversity in its various forms- a wealth of experience advising boardsRoger is a non-executive director of MSIG Insurance (Hong Kong), Chair of its Board Risk Committee and member of the Audit Committee. He is also a Senior Adviser to G3, a global leader in Strategic Intelligence, Investigations and Cyber Advisory. Aswell as other roles, Roger served for many years as a non-executive member of the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers. He is a Council Member of Cheltenham Ladies’ College and member of its Finance and Executive, Investment and Land and Buildings Committees. Roger was a member of Global and Asia Pacific Leadership Teams at Clifford Chance. He was instrumental in creating and leading the firms corporate business and establishing it as one of the most successful in the market.Roger was recognised as one of the world’s leading advisers and an eminent practitioner in Hong Kong. His counsel was sought in situations of critical importance to a company or country. He was at the forefront of landmark transactions in the Asian Financial Crisis in Thailand, Korea and Hong Kong, advising on the first post-crisis deals heralded by the national governments as a signal that things could get back to normal, and in Hong Kong advised the Financial Secretary on the establishment of the Tracker Fund after the government's market intervention. Post the Global Financial Crisis, aswell as others, Roger was chosen by HSBC to lead a global team on the disposal of their general insurance businesses. Roger has a track record of hiring and promoting the best people for the role and recognising the benefits and importance of diversity in its various forms e.g. the M&A partners in his team in Hong Kong were from diverse ethnic backgrounds and a majority were women.Roger shares his time between Hong Kong and the UK.
