Work in Host Infrastructure group, major project:(1) Generic Data Load/Validate/Retry tool: The tool is used for migrating data from Sybase to MySQL to support AOL's business goals of reducing operational costs and leveraging open source technologies. It provides highly configurable ability to define the source and target database connections/activities, and to mapping the columns between the source and target tables and doing transformation if required.(2) Data Business Rule (server farm) – provides its users the capability to define virtual views of data (virtual database) and access those data without regard to where they physically reside. Implemented by GNC C, deployed on 32 Linux box, processes about 500 million transactions per day.• Designed and implemented geographic data module:Define data rules for virtual database to access the physical database(MySQL); Retrieved data by HTTP request, result is return in XML format, Parse XML to get result and return to requestor.• Migrated UPX(a proprietary AOL web server, implement by TCL) to DBR:* Support both REST(HTTP GET) interface and XML-RPC(HTTP POST) interface* Retrieve data from Data Accelerator* Generate xml-formatted reply to requestor(3) Account Security Question Server (server farm) – provides AOL members the capability to create / modify / verify a security question associate with their account. Implemented by GNC C++. Implemented by GNC C, deployed on 6 Linux box, processes about 10 million transactions per day.
