Roger practices civil litigation and corporate law. His litigation practice is focused on construction disputes, oil and gas law, land disputes, fraud claims, and complex negligence and contract claims. As a litigator, he regularly advises and represents general contractors, construction trades, energy production companies, and energy service companies. He represents individuals in matters pertaining to defamation, invasion of privacy, and civil litigation regarding sexual battery. Roger practices cross border litigation in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. He has argued matters of conflicts of law at the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal and appeared before the superior courts across Western Canada.In his commercial practice, Roger advises companies on securities issuances, debt financings, and corporate restructuring or creditor compromises in insolvency. Prior to founding Baker Law Firm, Roger was an oil and gas executive working in management and corporate finance. He has been involved with numerous energy transactions, corporate start-ups, and has helped multiple companies structure and raise capital. Roger's corporate and business experience is relevant when he is assisting clients with solving complex business issues such as restructuring asset portfolios, segregating liabilities, or protecting large capital expenditures.Roger completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Calgary and articled at a large commercial law firm.
