Roger Lips has long appreciated the puzzles and complexities of real estate investment. An analytical innovator at heart, Roger has dedicated the whole of his three-decades-long career to building profitable investments from ambitious and out-of-the-box ideas. He has made his mark in markets across Europe, Canada, and, more recently, the Middle East. Roger Lips’ years of professional experience are underpinned by his formal education; he holds a Master’s degree in Business Economics with a concentration in Corporate Finance and Marketing from the internationally-renowned Tilburg University, as well as a Master of Real Estate degree from the University of Amsterdam. Roger Lips first found his passion for real estate investment during his final years as a student at the Tilburg University. His master’s program required each enrollee to complete an internship at a company in the community -- and for Roger, the opportunity turned out to be his first experience working in a real estate development company. The nature of the business appealed to Roger Lips as well, albeit for a different reason. From a task perspective, real estate is remarkably complex; like an enormous machine, it has countless parts that need to move in complete harmony to function. Roger Lips found that the skills and practical knowledge he had developed during his time in the private sector were invaluable in his endeavors as an independent real estate developer and investor. His first major redevelopment project centered around the former office of a municipality: the concrete building was all but unusable as an office space given the specific public spaces in the building, was ideally-located for much-needed shops and residential accommodations. Currently, Roger lives and works in Dubai, where he serves as an experienced real estate developer and investor in the UAE’s high-potential real estate sector.
