KEY SKILLSI am a golf historian, writer, editor and speaker, specialising in St Andrews, Old Tom Morris and legends from 1800's to 1920.My book, St Andrews-In The Footsteps of Old Tom Morris won the USGA's Herbert Warren Wind Book Award 2015. My 2020 book, St Andrews - The Road War Papers won the award in 2020. At The Open 2016, I was presented with the British Golf Collectors' Society Murdoch Medal - the highest British honour for golf literature. In 2019, I became editor of the British Golf Collectors' Society magazine, Through The Green. It is wonderful publication featuring the latest historical research.I enjoy giving talks both formal and informal about Tom Morris and golf history generally. Advising TV shows and films on golf historical content is something I have been enjoying. This follows writing scripts for and helping productions such as the 'Golf History with Peter Alliss' iPad application.In the last few years I have appeared in numerous TV and film productions including Loopers and St Andrews - The Greatest Golf Story Ever Told. In addition to being a contributor to podcasts and articles for papers such as NY Times, I have also written for various golf publications worldwide including Links, Golf Illustrated.My books are in development for a feature film plus an animated short film.
