Roger is the Chief Product Officer at OkHi, a technology startup focused on solving the addressing challenges in emerging markets. With over 13 years of experience in building and scaling products for the African market, Roger has a proven track record of leading developer and product teams, designing innovation processes, and implementing go-to-market strategies with a strong customer-centric mindset. He has co-founded two companies and is deeply passionate about delivering innovative value propositions to real customers.Prior to OkHi, Roger was Head of Product at Founders Factory Africa (now 54 Collective), where he played a pivotal role in the value creation studio, guiding and coaching startups in their portfolio. Before that, he co-founded and served as COO of Trixta, and earlier in his career, built and ran a startup studio, Playlogix. Throughout his career, Roger has supported building over 80 tech products, emphasizing the importance of validating business models early. This experience led to the co-founding of the Lean Iterator, a validation process that helps entrepreneurs prioritize effectively and investors make informed decisions. He is also the author of 'Start Here,' a book he wrote in 2014 on how to build a startup.Born in Cape Town, Roger is an active member of the African startup ecosystem, participating in initiatives like Silicon Cape and mentoring at numerous accelerators and incubators. He has also made a few angel investments, believing in the vast potential of the African startup scene.In his spare time, Roger enjoys sailing, board games, spending time with family, staying curious, and continually learning. He is always incredibly optimistic about the future of innovation in Africa.
