I am currently a Director of Scientific Communications at Caris Life Sciences working to ensure that our marketing materials are scientifically accurate and informative. Before coming to Caris, I was the Director of Scientific Communications for the Extracellular RNA Communication Consortium, facilitating interactions between scientists in the fields of exRNA and extracellular vesicle (EV) research and making the wider scientific community and the general public aware of advances in the field. My background before that is in genomics, first studying signal transduction in bacteria at Georgia Tech and then moving to humans and other multicellular organisms at Yale with the ENCODE and modENCODE programs. (And in a former life I was an aerospace engineer working to make human access to space more affordable.)I am a good writer and public speaker and can explain complex technical information clearly to a variety of audiences. I ask thought-provoking questions that can help guide the direction of research and inquiry.I am a proficient programmer with skill in R, Perl, Python, shell scripting, SQL, and html/css/javascript.
