Clients come in hurting (angry, sad, afraid, ashamed, to name a few hurts) and leave hopeful. It's not that the hurt is "cured;" rather, their work soon brings relief together with opportunities to achieve their objectives. The client may be a high functioning woman trying to marshal her strengths to improve a difficult relationship, a man or woman navigating big career bumps, a couple trying to understand and modify a pattern of conflict that gets them nowhere or a family or step family in turmoil. I combine years of training and experience as a therapist with the wisdom that was cultivated through a previous career as a lawyer/CPA. I practice in a way that complements the insights the client already has with a perspective on how emotional factors challenge one's ability to avoid being triggered so as to think clearly, make good judgments and carry them out effectively.
