- Preparing technical proposals to answer to calls for bids for catalysts replacement in Heavy Ends Hydrotreating and Hydrocracking units. It includes catalyst performances, and technical guarantees.- Providing technical support to the Sales Department by presenting the technical offers to the customers, and promoting the catalysts through marketing actions: presentations at conferences and seminars.- Providing technical assistance on client site for reactor inspection, catalyst loading supervision, catalyst sulfiding, start-up, test run, and presentation of monitoring results, and troubleshooting.Main achievements:- Several technical proposals awarded on VGO HDT and HCK field, even after pilot tests evaluation.- Participation as speaker in international conferences, and training for clients, promoting the catalysts.- Technical assistance with successful start-up and troubleshooting in hydroprocessing units worldwide.

Technical Services Manager for Axens in Venezuela:− Providing technical assistance and follow up of hydroprocessing and sulfur recovery units.

− Planning and coordinating the technical assistance activities for PDVSA refineries, activities in areas such as, distillation, FCC, HDT, and Naphtha Reforming. Having a team of 50 people, including technicians and engineers.− Supporting the PDVSA’s new hydroprocessing projects visualization, definition and basic engineering.Main achievements:- Feb – Mar.2012: Follow up and analysis results of pilot test for the PetroCarabobo new upgrader project to produce Upgraded Crude Oil (32 API and 42 API). Multidisciplinary team from PDVSA, AXENS and IFPEN. This work included a temporal assignment in IFPEN pilot plants (Lyon, France).

− Coordinating the activities of Hydroprocessing’s team, formed by six (6) engineers and three (3) technicians. Activities such as, pilot test for catalyst selection, technical assistance for Hydrotreating units of PDVSA Refining Circuit.Main achievements:Aug – Sep.2011: Successful technical assistance provided during the turnaround of the FCC Pretreating unit (HDS, 33 KBD) at Cardon Refinery, Venezuela. Supervision of spent catalyst downloading, inspection of installation of new High Dispersion Distributors Trays in the reactors, catalyst loading supervision, and start-up of the unit.

− Providing technical assistance to Catalytic Naphtha Reforming units within PDVSA refineries, preparing and executing test-runs, unit monitoring, troubleshooting, operations support during unit turnaround, catalyst evaluation for CCR units.Main achievements:Jul.2008 & May.2009: Technical assistance to solve the loss of octane number in Naphtha Reforming Unit (9.5 MBD) at Cienfuegos Refinery, Cuba.

− Providing technical assistance (commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, and performance follow up) to hydrotreating units within PDVSA and Citgo refineries.− PDVSA’s new hydroprocessing technologies projects and basic engineering support.− Planning, coordination and follow up of pilot plant tests for catalyst selection of hydrotreating commercial units. Testing results analysis and reporting.Main achievements:May. – Dec.2007: Process design engineer for HDHPLUS® project (50 MBD). Responsible of designing the flushing system, and participation during the FEED (Front End Engineering Design) with the contractor (JGC, Japan)Jul. – Dec.2006: Technical assistance for the start-up of a grass-root FCC gasoline hydrotreating unit (Selectfining™ unit, 34 MBD) at CITGO Corpus Christi refinery, USA. Responsible of catalyst loading supervision, catalyst activation, start up, and follow up the performance test.Mar. – May.2004: Pilot plant test for catalyst selection of VGO hydrotreating unit (HDS Unit, 33 MBD) at Cardon Refinery, Venezuela. Responsible for the catalyst selection, including the technical economical evaluation to recommend the best catalyst proposal.
