My main commitment was to young people (YP) who required initial IAG and assessment so that Pathway could provide appropriate provision, as well as apposite continuity in supporting IAG until they successfully progress from Pathway Group. Examples of IAG during recruitment were YP who were ultimately offered appropriate solutions to their training (Study Programme) or more work-based needs such as Traineeships and Apprenticeships, and whilst conducting regular reviews with apprentices in their workplace to ensure smooth progression during their time with Pathway Group. During recruitment I completed the necessary SFA paperwork with both apprentices and employers. Confidence in my IAG ability was illustrated by the regular requests from senior members of Pathway for me to respond on IAG matters on behalf of the Group.I effectively recruited for, established, managed and administered projects at various locations, which reflects my ability to engage with YP and agencies. At the end of the projects I successfully progressed students into a variety of apprenticeships.During a brisk period of change I supported my new manager by using my skills, knowledge and experience to help implement both new ideas and supporting these ideas with the team. My ability to successfully deputise for my manager, when needed, was illustrated by the confidence in which members of the team have in me in that role. I displayed flexibility in standing-in for functional skills tutors for daylong sessions at short notice, by identifying new opportunities for promoting Pathway Group, as well as being available for off-site activities at weekends and evenings.I demonstrated effective organisational skills for both my Review caseload of apprentices and the recalling of recruits for IAG sessions as well as accurate and timely recording of these interventions, both paper-based and electronically, with YP as well as interaction with other agencies which were then distributed appropriately.
Wolverhampton
My case load was working in a city high school delivering Careers Information Advice and Guidance to both intensive and universal students through one-to-one interventions and in group work. I shared this workload with Wolverhampton registered Looked After Children and Care Leavers who live both within and outside the city. With regards to the latter cohort I made excellent progress in improvement in their engagement and progression into permanent employment, education and training using my effective relationships with the relevant agencies. To do this I used formaI assesssment tools to identify difficulties and insecurities to progress and put into place action plans to set and review goals and actions. This caseload often required being both tenacious and patient in my support with both the young people and the teams around them. I had administrative duties which relect my attention to detail and in meeting deadlines and targets set. Because I was a valued team member I was often asked to stand in for my supervisors and manages at meetings. I organised the Duty Team for the Drop In at our main base in Salop Street, Wolverhampton as well as taking my turn attending Duty. Other related activities included Young Carers Club and creation of unique projects (including the budgeting of the latter) in hot spot post codes of the city.

After completing PGCE, I became teacher of Business Studies, Economics, Accounts and ICT for Years 7 to sixth form. Form tutor to sixth form and Year 9.
