As a New York City commercial real estate entrepreneur I’ve paved a unique path – deal making for the better good. It may seem like a paradox, but I’ve proven that commercial real estate deals can yield both financial profits and social value.Just ask the non-profit and church leaders who I’ve helped create and execute strategies to generate tremendous value from their real estate assets. Or the musicians who have had their rehearsal space preserved in Manhattan.I thrive on helping those who lack the know-how and access to big agency resources navigate the complex, opaque world of NYC commercial real estate. As a strategic advisor, I help them leverage their real estate assets and distressed properties to take advantage of development opportunities. Not just for short-term relief, but to create sustainable economic strength – enabling them to foster their missions and re-invest in the communities they serve.I’m a relentless problem solver and value creator who loves leading teams to solve complicated challenges. Teaching others and building learning environments is part of my leadership style. I began my career as real estate investor just prior to the subprime mortgage crisis. Amassing resiliency and leaning into my innate desire to explore, I pivoted in a new direction – as owner of NYC’s historic music rehearsal hub, the Music Building. The efficiencies I put in place enhanced the experience for our musician tenants and strengthened the underlying business model. But my advisory work with The Salvation Army was a tipping point. As their advisor, I’ve been a catalyst to help them employ complex commercial real estate strategies – making them financially stronger and enabling them to re-invest in the communities they serve across the globe. I’ve since scaled this impact advisory business model to help hundreds of churches and other non-profits succeed in commercial real estate. Please let me know how I can be helpful to your organization or mission!
