I studied hotel management in Amsterdam, where I lived for 12 years before I journeyed to the Middle East in 2009. While I loved the hospitality business, my passion for photography burned stronger each year, ignited by travels to far off places. I fell in love with spaces, places and faces through the lens of my camera and soon I was itching to make it a full time pursuit. In recent years, my work as a hotelier has given me the opportunity to direct and participate in photo shoots with renowned photographers both behind the scenes and behind the camera. Hotels are great practice grounds for photography as they are microcosms of society – people, architecture, art, food, fashion, the subject matter is endless.So why the name HONEST? The single thread that seems to link most of my photos and one that is often mentioned by my lovely group of encouraging friends and colleagues is that my images always seem pure, direct and HONEST.
