Rogier van de Weijer studied commercial economics and works as Blue Phoenix Group international business development manager. His key role is to match the portfolio of recycling solutions with the Energy from Waste industry’s ambitions to maximize the reuse of its ash residue and prevent it from being landfilled.Each year millions of tons of residual municipal solid waste are being prepared as a sustainable source of fuel for an array of Energy from Waste facilities around the world, helping reduce a country's reliance on fossil fuels. After the energy has been recovered in the form of electricity and heat, a non-hazardous Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) is left.This is where our expertise comes into play. The processing of the IBA to remove any residual metals, which are sent to metals companies and brought back into the circular economy, enables that the great majority of the IBA is cleaned to become a sustainable source of aggregates for use in constructions.Rogier started his career in the IT industry and served in various commercial roles in international teams in various industries.Rogier is an experienced and enthusiastic business development manager presenting at conferences and board levels. Rogier is native Dutch and speaks English and French fluently.
