General manager at software company Livecom, being operationally responsible for all activities of the company, including operations, sales, development, finance, legal and HR. Livecom, founded in 2003, develops and markets customer contact software that helps large companies and governments to treasure their customers by supporting them more efficiently via chat, email, WhatsApp, phone and self-service. Customers included Philips, CZ, Douwe Egberts, Achmea, BMW, ICS, BinckBank and Gemeente Den Haag. During my last months at Livecom I had a leading role in the sales of the company to Artilium, a publicly listed (LSE/AIM) international software company. During the greater part of 2011, after the sales of Ezwim B.V. (see next work experience), I have been enjoying a planned sabbatical leave.

From 2005 until January 2011 I was COO/CFO and one of the two statutory directors at Ezwim BV (since 2018 part of Globys), a leading provider of Telecom Expense & Service Management solutions to enterprises and telecom operators (in 2001, I was one of the founders of Ezwim, but during the period up to 2005 only engaged as a Shareholder and Board Member). My primary responsibilities within Ezwim were: operations, organization, finance, HR and legal. During this period the company realized an average growth of 34% per year with substantial and structural profitability, moved from a national player to a recognized (Gartner's Magic Quadrant) European market leader (customers in 15 European and North American countries), and developed its product from a telecom expense reporting tool to a full telecom management suite. We sold the company successfully in September 2010, including my shares in the company, and after a 3 months management transition period, I stopped working for Ezwim as of January 1, 2011. In 2001 I was one of the founders and initial shareholders of Ezwim BV, which became a leading provider of Telecom Expense & Service Management solutions to enterprises and telecom operators. After setting up the company in 2001 until 2005 I was active for the company as a Board Member. In 2005 I became full-time engaged (see above).

Cymantrix was a recruitment / executive search company, exclusively focusing on servicing (mainly international) ICT companies. I was responsible for the entire organization, for commerce, for managing the team of recruitment consultants and for the operational execution of senior level recruitment assignments.

Baernstede Capital Management was a venture capital firm. Together with the managing director / fund manager I was engaged in setting up and managing two investment funds, aimed at making risk investments in young and growing companies (mainly ICT companies), and supervising the companies invested in.

Competence Group was a consultancy firm in the field of personnel & organization. My professional activities were research and consultancy in the field of organizational culture, collaborative processes, mergers, chairing working groups and meetings, providing training. Additionally I was engaged in conducting recruitment assignments.
