I have been in management for over 20 years. I started my journey in management in a night club as a bar manager for about a year, where I spent my time learning how to manage a staff and inventory. I spent 5 years with Casey’s General Stores as a First Assistant Manager. I gave up the length of the job and took a pay cut to go to a “family owned” business as their manager in hopes of advancing my skills in management. I worked in management for Dollar General for 3 years as a Traveling Lead Sales Associate. In this position, I traveled to “trouble” stores to help with impacted freight rooms and would run stores in place of a manager or a management team when I was needed.After leaving Dollar General, I began my journey with Shoe Sensation. I have been in my current position since March of 2017. I believe, even with as much as I despise shopping, that retail, more specifically retail management, is where I am meant to be. My goal in this position is to be recognized for my ability to lead a team and move up within the company.
