I am a third-year student at the University of Washington, where I am majoring in Psychology (BS) and minoring in Marine Biology. During the summer of 2024, I was a volunteer at Ryther. The summer before that, I participated in an internship in a therapy setting for children that has provided me with real-world experience in clinical psychology, and given me an opportunity to develop my skills in working with small, mostly-nonverbal children from a different culture, who have special needs to help improve their developmental and learning outcomes later in life. I am also one of the founding fathers of the Delta Chi fraternity’s University of Washington provisional chapter (info: https://uwifc.com/delta-chi), established at the start of the Fall 2022 quarter and granted provisional recognition on January 6, 2024 shortly after I joined. In high school, I gained experience in programming using C#, and have studied college-level STEM fields like Anatomy, Forensic Science, and Biomedical Engineering. Many of my experiences at Tesla STEM High School have encouraged me to apply my knowledge to solving real-world problems. Furthermore, my interest in nature and the environment has been kindled by my participation in the Scouts BSA- which is what I have to thank for my interest in the natural world around me, and for my leadership training. I was fortunate enough to have extensive leadership roles in Scouting. I have also taken a statistics course in college where I learned how to graph data and conduct statistical tests using JASP software, and have taken the following classes in my Psychology major: Intro to Psychology, Biopsychology, Fundamentals of Psychology Research, Abnormal Psychology, Cross-Cultural Psychology, and Intro to Social Psychology.
