I am a rising Junior at Syracuse University majoring in Magazine and Digital Journalism at the Newhouse School of Communications. As an aspiring sports journalist, I constantly seek opportunities to enhance my writing and build on my experience as a blog contributor and digital content creator.The Newhouse curriculum has instilled in me the core values of an ethical journalist in modern society, including an impartial perspective, and a persistent appetite to learn more. I am a self-driven content creator who wants his voice to be heard no matter the mode or medium.My extracurricular pursuits have well-prepared me for the world of sports media. In addition to my work as a freelance writer, I co-host an MMA podcast called “The CounterPunch,” for which my partner and I produce weekly fight card breakdowns on YouTube, as well as short videos for Instagram and TikTok. In addition to planning the production of our content, we edit all of our videos using programs such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro, aiming to produce entertaining and informative videos across multiple social media platforms.Working as a contributing writer for FanSided.com has given me an outlet to consistently improve my writing, experimenting with the coverage of many topics, including player performance, offseason rumors, and even detailed game recaps. I’ve accumulated substantial experience both behind and in front of the camera that I’ll be able to leverage in various roles and positions, willing to do whatever it takes to break into the world of sports journalism.
