Worked as part of the Door Systems group whose work revolved around designing, testing, and manufacturing window regulators and full door modules for various automotive OEMs. One of my major responsibilities was to design, manufacture, complete, and report on various studies that were desired by the engineers in the group.Designed, built, and conducted tests with an inexpensive miniature sound chamber testing apparatus that was used to conduct tests to discover the sound damping qualities of different plastics that could be used in the manufacturing of door modules.Responsible for ensuring Product Validation (PV) testing of various doors modules were following the procedures outlined in the test specification. Conducted thorough teardowns and prepared reports on tested parts to determine areas of abnormal wear.Underwent Red-X training, and utilized learned techniques to conduct a preliminary Red-X analysis on door module issue regarding an abnormally high current draw in -40°C temperature.

Manufactured test fixtures and specimens to size, adhering to tight tolerances, which involved extensive machining with mills, vertical band saws, and drill presses. Materials mainly consisted of carbon fiber sheets, carbon fiber and aluminum honeycomb sandwiches, steel, and aluminum.Conducted thermal expansion tests by heating up carbon fiber strips to predetermined temperatures, and subsequently measuring elongation with laser extensometer. Analyzed data in Microsoft Excel to calculate the linear coefficient of thermal expansion.Tested bond strength of carbon fiber aluminum honeycomb sandwich with MTS Criterion Universal Testing Machine.
