A distinctive aspect of the Curtin University Software Engineering course is the year-long group based (4 engineers) capstone project, with an industry partner (Motorola). An exciting new product was created, with the final result delivered on time, while exceeding the customers expectations (requirements identified as ‘wish-list’, and not expected to be delivered in the available time frame, were included). We were left to learn from our own mistakes, and use metrics collected over each cycle to track progress and improve the processes used.
