About Rohan Martin

How do you know your product is going to be successful? I do it by not focusing on the product itself. Instead, my emphasis is on product users and the product development team; with skills from studying and applying the science of both Product Management and Performance Management (along with in-depth technical knowledge...and a fair exposure to failed products). This is too rare of a combination of experience, as they combine making the right product that people want, in the right way, with a team who wants to make the best product. It's that simple.I am passionate about all things connected, and the new opportunities technology advancements make available. I combine this with an ongoing interest in ubiquitous computing (“mobile”, “wearables”, “internet of things”...pick your buzzword). A gadget isn't cool if the user thinks they are using a computer. I only do cool.I maintain a big picture view of the industry and ask the tricky questions about what users actually want, with a good understanding of where the trends are headed. I have a keen eye for recognising beneficial partnership opportunities, to keep ahead of the competition and build brand awareness. I have created cutting-edge devices with Samsung, Sony, HTC, Garmin, Motorola, Wahoo Fitness, Recon Instruments and many others; and apps with Strava, Endomondo, MapMyFitness, Runkeeper, SportyPal and more.I have had proven success in taking projects from concept to market, with complete ownership of the ANT in Android project. My technical expertise is in wireless technologies and API’s. While these may seem unrelated; as much as your product might be great, it needs to connect to and work alongside other cool products to be noticed. I want anything I have worked on to get noticed. In my free time, I am a dedicated mountain biker, snowboarder and world explorer. If you are in need of someone to guide your strategy to turn your “cool” project into a successful reality: send me a message.
