• The TBRI organization is part of the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital and aims to facilitate clinical research. They have been one of Canada’s Top 40 Research Hospitals since 2010. • I joined Dr. Curiel’s project which focused on MRI-guided High-Intensity Focused Ultrasounds to help treat terminal ablation of uterine fibroids. • I was responsible for designing Micro-PET beds (using SolidWorks and 3D Printers) with a positioning and heating system so trials on mice could be done to ensure future therapies are minimally invasive, have fewer side effects, and require less recover time. • Completed a Medical Imaging course to support understanding of this treatment.
