In my role as Assistant Management Accountant at Bayleys is to work with a team of Accountants to prepare Monthly Management reports for Manager and Directors of various departments within the organisation. Key Tasks and Responsibilities:1. Ensure all management accounts are produced in a timely and accurate manner.2. Provide Managers and Directors a cash flow snapshot and forecast for group and subsidiary companies daily. 3. Provide comprehensive professional advice and support to the shared services team.4. Ensure all group policies and procedures are followed5. Ensure accurate management accounting consistent with best practices.6. Develop appropriate systems and controls to minimise the potential of fraud and risk.7. Ensure that appropriate practices and procedures are in place to effectively manage financial and business risk within the organisation.8. Ensure that appropriate processes and procedures are in place so the companies comply with relevant legislative requirements.9. Ensure branch administration staff meet deadlines.

SUMMARY:As the Finance Manager at Elim Christian College I am responsible for the management of the organisation's financial accounting and reporting activities. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:Preparation of Financial and Management Reports1. Timely production of internal monthly financial reports.2. Analyse and comment as appropriate on financial information.3. Manage the structure of the Financial Systems.4. Ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, NZ IFRS, legal, regulatory, and College procedures.5. Provide Heads of Departments with monthly reports indicating budget vs actual expenditure along with appropriate analysis and comments.Financial Processing 1. Overall responsibility for ensuring financial transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner.2. Ensure statutory tax compliance is achieved by maintaining a knowledge of current legislation and the implications of financial transactions being processed.3. Maintain the general ledger and fixed asset register / depreciation register and reconcile this annually with the school’s asset register. Budgets & Forecasting1. Manage the budget process including the review and analysis of information for trends and inconsistencies 2. Manage and consolidate organisation forecasts on an as required basis; combining budgets, actual results to date and current information obtained from budget holdersRelationship Management 1. Liaise with Auditors in relation to the annual Audit of the financial records2. Manage all key contracts and maintain a strong relationship with suppliers.3. Develop and maintain effective communication and positive working relationships with the internal and external stakeholders.
