Working capital is known as the life blood of the organizations. The Purpose of this study is to understand efficiency and utilization of working capital in Albert David Ltd. and five other pharmaceutical companies i.e. Cipla Ltd, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Sun Pharmaceutical Ltd, Torrent Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd and Zydus Lifesciences Industries Ltd. by analyzing for six years data form 2017 to 2022. This study is based on the secondary data of the firms. Working capital directly affects the profitability and liquidity of the firm and this study concludes that proper working capital management very much affects the performance of the firm. The terms cash flow and working capital are used interchangeably. Cash flow is the inward and outward movement of cash; essentially the management of income and expenditure. However, working capital is measured by comparing a firm’s current assets against current liabilities. It is essentially the money available to meet current short-term obligations.Through this project five different companies’ necessary secondary data have been collected and evaluated to compare them with of Albert David Limited to come to a conclusion how the company can look upon its drawbacks and take necessary steps further for its efficient working capital management.
