DESIGNING ELECTRO-MIGRATION TEST STRUCTURE FOR ALUMINIUM:1. Designed the electro-migration Test structure for aluminium on glass using K-layout.2. Developed etching, photo-lithography, masking and developed the design on the Aluminium substrate.3. Passing the current between the designed substrate and find the highest current density.4. Identifying the minimum amount of current that can pass through the test structure. PROGNOSIS OF HIV USING MICROFLUDIC:1. Designed the structure for blood flow and printed the design mask on the silicon substrate using Mask-less aligner (MLA). Obtained pre-bake and post-bake exposure. 2. Developed with 1:4 developer solution followed by etching. 3. PDMS solution is formed and dried PDMS layer is cut depending upon the required shape and microfluidic channel is clearly viewed. Further by adding liquid (blood) the flow in the microfluidic is visible.

The impact of the test structure design on the electro-migration lifetime of aluminium interconnect has been tested by passing the current between the aluminium substrate. It was analysed that electromigration failure was significantly influenced by both test structure design and current density. This report comprises of designing the best test structure design so that one could see the electro-migration with the help of microscope. The main objective of this project is to design an electro-migration test structure for Aluminium on glass substrate. The test structure can be designed using K-Layout which gives the .gds file. The gds file can be sent to MLA Mask-less aligner machine which will print the test structure design on the Aluminium substrate. The flow of electron inside the substrate is caused by the high current density. When the current is applied from anode to cathode the electrons must flow in opposite direction. During electro-migration the metal ions moved forcibly due to the electric field. There will be the breakage of current flow between the aluminium pattern. From this observation we are checking how long it can withstand the heat, without breaking the aluminium pattern. Later the amount of current which causes the open circuit must be checked. This will be due to electro-migration current density and temperature are the decaying factor in electro-migration. With electro-migration test structure one can find maximum current density in interconnects and the life time of the test structure by stressing the test structure. Secondly by making difference in current source we are identifying the minimum amount of current that can pass through the test structure. During electromigration hillocks and voids are formed on the surface. Later by applying MTTF science, we quantify the pattern for film of aluminium with different thickness.
