Being involved with Excel Gen Tech was a remarkable journey. Together as a team, we embarked on the creation of unique hardware projects to serve Excel's needs. One standout accomplishment was our development of a 6ft x 6ft CNC machine, which played a crucial role in unveiling the Excel 2023 logo.

On my bucket list, I aim to become an entrepreneur once I achieve financial independence. My experiment was to understand the dynamics and pressures of entrepreneurship. I conceptualized "Old is Gold," an initiative focused on providing second-hand textbooks while allowing students to sell their old textbooks for half the original price.At the end of each academic year, I noticed a common practice where students discarded or recycled their old textbooks, often fetching a meager return of around 80Rs for a book that originally cost 1000Rs. Conversely, at the start of a new academic year, students rushed to buy expensive new textbooks. My startup addressed this issue by collecting old books and reselling them at a 50% discount, with the textbook owners receiving half the proceeds. The core philosophy of my startup was "Sell for 50%, Buy for 50% – Together, let's make learning affordable."Throughout this journey, I designed numerous posters, delved into new marketing strategies, and honed my negotiation skills. It's worth noting that my startup operated as a non-profit, and my mother's wisdom, "To be truly dedicated to your work, you should be willing to work for free," inspired this approach.The venture yielded significant benefits, including expanding my network, acquiring a range of valuable skills, and gaining a unique experience. Stepping out of my comfort zone led to over 30 successful deals and the sale of more than 100 books, resulting in a cash flow exceeding 10,000Rs from buyers to sellers.I initially tested this concept within my college and plan to scale it to other colleges and schools once I find a co-founder who shares my vision.In summary, this journey taught me that experience and knowledge are the true treasures one possesses.
