Innovation and Strategy Lead for Plasma Derived Therapies at Takeda.In my role at Takeda's Plasma Derived Therapies disruptive innovation engine (the iHub), I am responsible for both search and evaluation as well as portfolio management.

• Lead international team of director-level subject matter experts to redesign plasma fractionation manufacturing through a 10-month period of virtual design sprints at each plasma fractionation sites in the US and EU with an emphasis on immunoglobulin production and Industry 4.0 technologies with $100M budget. • Lead international team of engineers to redesign plastic waste processing at fractionation sites in the US and EU, resulting in up to $500,000 in annual savings per fractionation site. • Performed GMP audit and due diligence with 3 contract manufacturers across the EU and Asia. • Developed and launched global Plasma Manufacturing Innovation Management Office and built partnerships to 20+ universities such as M.I.T. and the University of Gent.

• Supervised the Weekend Swing shift of 17 direct reports and 35 indirect to meet production goals within Takeda (formerly Shire) Los Angeles’s blood plasma fractionation complex for IgG and Fraction V products• Led collaboration with core and support teams to resolve equipment and system issues across multiple manufacturing cells while promoting a team culture of safety, continuous improvement, Good Manufacturing Practices and Lean Six Sigma.• Hired 12 operators across 5 shifts out of 50 applicants. • Implemented CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action), EHS/OSHA (Environmental Health and Safety/Occupational Safety and Health Administration), and Technical Operations commitments, and provided manufacturing investigation support for issues ranging from equipment reliability to bioburden contamination.• Audited facilities and operators for compliance with FDA regulations and company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).• Managed project to implement centrifuge and fraction I bowl remainder reduction, with an annual gain of > $1,000,000 from protein recovery at cryoprecipitate harvest and fraction I separation.• Designed, managed and implemented numerous actions derived from Six Sigma and Lean Methodology for protein recovery from raw plasma pooling loss resulting in >$2,100,000 realized savings for Building 5 Fractionation for 2017.• Earned the highest performance rating of 15 Manufacturing Supervisors by exceeding goals and commitments for 2016 and again for 2017.• Designed, managed and executed 25+ instances of FDA compliant biocleaning consisting of biofilm removal, passivation, and sanitization for mold remediation of multiple plasma fractionation Vessels, Filter Presses, and Clean-In-Place skids, with each instance requiring only 10% of the cost of contractor performed biocleaning.

(This role was effective after the split of Baxter and Baxalta, but prior to the acquisition of Baxalta by Shire).• Designed and executed Kaizen to revalidate cold cryoprecipitate suspension mixing speed that eliminated protein loss due to clogging and a compliance gap of undocumented mixing speed. Resulted in a gain of approximately $1,700,000 for the pharma business unit by end of production December 2016. Identified by Global Technical Operations as a top 3 yield improvement project for Hemofil-M product.• Designed and executed Technical Operations protocol to circumvent all instances of atypical filtration in the Hemofil-M process through limiting clarification time. Avoided 14 medium CAPAs, with estimated savings of $160,000.• Supported Deloitte’s Manufacturing Activities Analysis to balance human capital resources across 5 shifts and 7 production variations.• Rewarded and recognized operator ideas by managing an idea board for 90 employees, and implemented an automated potency/volume fulfillment tracker based on financial projections.• Earned the highest performance rating of 8 Continuous Improvement Leaders by exceeding goals and commitments.

(This role was effective immediately prior to the Baxter/Baxalta split)• Worked directly on the production floor to learn batch operation of centrifuges, filter presses, immunoaffinity and ion-exchange chromatography columns, nanofiltration, sterile filtration, buffer makeup, bulk pH/alcohol/potency adjustments, CIP/SIP skids, and associated automated control systems (DeltaV).• Performed safety risk assessments on processing support equipment, participated in numerous numerous quality & bioburden reduction investigations, completed product impact assessments for trending events, and designed new small parts/tools with external fabrication contractors.• Assisted in executing two technical operation studies on manufacturing floor to determine yield loss from Nanofiltration Skid and chromatography columns and a laboratory technical study to determine feasibility of freezing, shipping and thawing Factor VIII product.

NiteLifeNav is a mobile application driven by crowdsourced information that provides consumers real-time information on all nightlife venues in their city, specific to their tastes and near their location. • Prototyped the mobile app design using proto.io, which became the framework of the iOS mobile application.• Created database of all nightlife venues in Los Angeles and Orlando, segmented into daily music genre, crowd, neighborhood and venue type.• Failed to get the product to market as fast as our two competitors in 2016 and 2017- decided to take a step back, analyze the market more and invest more into UX and marketing.• Launched prototype web app for Orlando, FL for an initial test of the market.• My work on this startup has paused due to my relocation to Boston.

Intune Health is a sentiment analysis company with applications in education and healthcare. www.be-intune.com• Co-founded Intune Health, sentiment analysis company with a web app platform that allows users and their wellness managers (i.e. students and their teachers, on-site clinicians, and guidance counselors) to keep real-time track of overall mental health through the use of text and emojis. • Developed MVP under bootstrapped budget and performed pilot product tests in two different school districts (Santa Ana, CA & Rialto, CA)• At the start of the pandemic, we closed this venture....for now.
