Project category: environmental compliance for License to Operate (entire oil production, 400-450 kbpd) Headline size: 350-400 m$. Personnel responsible for: ca. 3000 nos. at peak, 8 million manhours. Contract type: EPCC lumpsum, construction acceleration by reimbursable amendment, key free issued equipment/ materials lumpsum. Highlights• Largest execution in NCOC with more than 36 months on site, in harsh ambient conditions (-40 to +50C), without serious injury (SFI=0), on time and on budget with quality. Maximum involvement of local contractors and workers, developing the national labor and manufacturing capabilities during the delivery. IPA close-out evaluation: top quartile, 10% ahead of schedule against global industry benchmark. • Maneuvering the project through series of non-technical abnormalities: pandemic, logistic congestions, global semiconductors shortage, social unrest, regional war, and financial instability of contractor(s). Recovered 70% progress in last 1/3rd duration, turning the project from “Hopeless” to “Hopeful”. • Headed the project from scratch in a few years-old nascent organization in terms of processes and resources with complex NOV set-up (7 major oil companies) and dynamic government relations. • Implementation of best project management practices: advanced work packaging, agile execution methodology, Time in Motion (productivity) assessments, systems ownership approach, advanced contract management schemes such as commercial and operational level targeted incentives, KPIs driven performance reviews.

Project category: production increase, asset integrity, maintain margin, HSE compliance. Headline size & Accountability: 25-50 m$ per annum, 85-175 m$ per assignment term, Personnel responsible for: ca. 700 nos. at peak. Contracts type: reimbursable EP and inhouse managed reimbursable construction, lumpsum for equipment/ materials. Highlights• Delivering from concept selection (DG2) onwards up to stable operations with fit-for-purpose project management framework for extremely schedule AND cost driven suite of deep brownfield complex technical interface projects with various business drives.• Special initiatives: vendor plus design (not all-in Shell DEPs), minimum technical solutions, inter-industry innovative solutions to solve the 50+ years old refinery problems with cross-industry collaborators. • Trust of senior management to lead other PMs in the portfolio, largest and most complex in the refinery, despite being the only non-native in the department.

Responsible for front-end technology, design & engineering for gas gasification and syngas treating units (two of the largest units) in integrated gas (GTL) flagship green and brownfield field projects with headline size up to 15-20 b$. Accountability: 1-2 b$ design/ engineering scope. Managed staff: ca. 8 nos. SMEs, indirectly several engineering contractor personnel. Invented novel process technologies for syngas treating with reduction in amount of equipment by 30% and CapEx by 40% leading to key inventions, families of patents and an improved master design for future GTL projects.
