Leadership and management of the the largest psychiatry residency program in the DoD with over 52 trainees, ensuring it met all accreditation standards and provided the highest quality training for residents. Responsible for curriculum development, resident evaluation, faculty supervision, and overall program administration.

Serves as Faculty (Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Medicine from 2009-2020) and now an Associate Professor in the departments of psychiatry and medicine. Educates and mentors medical students and other trainees from the Uniformed Services University.

Supervised 7 civilian providers on a 16-bed unit, providing compassionate care to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Played a critical role in their recovery journey, offering diagnostic expertise, medication management, and individual and group therapy to help them achieve lasting sobriety and mental health wellness. Collaborated closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team, including therapists, nurses, counselors, and case managers, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care. Served as the site director for psychiatry residents and developed a robust curriculum to enhance the educational value to the rotation.

As the Division Psychiatrist (Director of Psychological Wellness), played a vital role in upholding the mental and emotional well-being of over 14,000 Soldiers within assigned Army units. Provided the necessary leadership and expertise in both clinical psychiatry and military operational medicine to reduce risk factors of suicides, Collaborated closely with the unit commanders and leadership team to integrate psychological wellness considerations into all aspects of military operations. Conducted briefings and training sessions on stress management, resilience building, and combat mental health. Developed and implemented proactive programs to promote mental health and well-being among Soldiers, such as stress management workshops, substance abuse prevention programs, and suicide prevention initiatives. Conducted research aimed at improving the delivery of mental health services to Soldiers.

As a psychiatrist, managed and monitored medication regimens, adjusting dosages as needed and ensuring safe and effective use. As an internist, provided outpatient and inpatient primary care medicine, including diagnosis, and management of common illness and complex medical conditions. Provided preventive care to a broad group of patient population. While serving as a combat operational stress control psychiatrist overseas, operated in austere environment to prevent mental health problems through outreach and prevention. Provided expertise in trauma, resilience, crisis management, and fostering organizational cohesion.

Provided leadership and mentorship to 74 internal medicine residents through a combination of clinical, administrative, and educational support. Provide clinical supervision to residents within the Internal Medicine program. Conducted educational sessions for residents, including lectures, case discussions, and workshops through curriculum development. Collaborated with program directors and administrators to implement policies and procedures, and schedule over 200 residents. Provided supervisory role to residents including disciplinary corrective actions. Taught and engaged in scholarly activities, patient safety and quality initiatives, root cause analysis, and professional development.

Underwent combined training in internal medicine and psychiatry, engaging in a structural educational curriculum, with numerous performance awards culminating in competitive selection as the chief resident of the internal medicine residency program.

Trained as a medical student with recognition in research and leadership, with a competitive selection for the combined internal medicine and psychiatry residency program at Walter Reed.

Graduated with honors as Summa cum laude with a B.S. in Biology with a minor in biochemistry (GPA 3.85).

Served as a United States Marine, known for dedication, discipline, and readiness to respond to a variety of missions including overseas training missions and deployment. Excelled with numerous recognitions including honor graduate and meritorious promotions.
