My current position involves:- the day-to-day running of the Newspaper office for both print and online - manage key client accounts - to increase advertisement sales to existing and new customers, offering the complete product portfolio -To develop and implement new ideas to generate additional revenue- To maximise customer contact to maintain and develop existing and new business-To sell the benefits of planned advertising- To adhere to company credit policy and discount structure when negotiating with customers- To assist customers by advising on the copy writing, presentation, design and campaign planning- To collect and process all copy adhering to company policy & deadlines-To answer customer queries courteously and promptly- To continuously update knowledge of marketing statistics, change, market share and competitors- To be responsible for incoming calls and visitors and to forward receipts in a prompt, courteous and professional manner-To manage all client accounts & advise on company prepayment policy to new customers while advising account customers on payment options and if necessary collect payments- To cross sell into other group portfolios including, online sites, website design, leaflet & business card design/ print & distribution, bridal magazines and all group supplements, wedding fairs & exhibitions.

I spent a year in this hotel as part my work placement from college September 2001 – September 2002 and had been offered a permanent post once my studies were complete. I rejoined the team after graduation and this job gave me experience in the operation of a busy hotel with the responsibility of managing possibly 5 weddings per week in peak season. My core duties included - Advising, selling & co –ordinating all aspects of functions including weddings / functions/ conferences- Dealing with all customer queries relating to booking any functions & turning these queries into confirmed bookings- One to one customer care with all wedding couples- Dealing with any business / organization hoping to hold meetings/ functions etc. - Upsell food & bedrooms to any of these conference clients- Advise menu options / daily schedules for all clients- Co-ordinating weekly function sheets and distributing to all departments within the hotel i.e. kitchen/ reception / housekeeping etc.- Posting the invoices to the system & ensuring all bills are accurate for the customer- Creating accounts for repeat clients & taking responsibility for issuing credit to these account customers- Acting a duty manager when needed I fully believe that working in such a fast paced environment has helped me become a good communicator & can adapt to any situation that may arise.
