Tasked to lead the global events strategy and devise a robust approach to building and maintaining online and offline communities for our portfolio of global recruitment brands.

Devise and evaluate marketing activities designed to maximise brand awareness and sales enquiries. Such activities included the management of an annual events calendar, the cultivation and management of promotional opportunities with key industry partners and effective promotion on the company's social media platforms.

Working within the Major Events Team of the Peter Rowland Group, Melbourne’s longest running hospitality group, my main responsibilities pertained to the day-to-day logistics, forward planning and operation of several major events within the Melbourne area, including the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, Melbourne Cup Carnival and the Australian International Airshow. Main responsibilities and significant successes: • End-to-end event planning: client communication; internal communication of all event administration and on-site implementation of Major Events within the Melbourne area. Our event portfolio consisted of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, Melbourne Cup Carnival, Australian International Airshow, Priceline Kooyong Classic and the Davis Cup. The Major Events Team successfully renewed contracts for all the 14-15 Major Events for the 15-16 season. • Coordinating marketing collateral content for all major events including event brochures and menus• Area Managing specific corporate hospitality areas at events such as The Australian F1 Grand Prix; Melbourne Cup Carnival, Priceline Kooyong Classic and the Davis Cup, ensuring a high standard of hospitality service during all events. • Supplier liaison for all major events: placing event orders, coordinating deliveries and returns in accordance with scheduled timelines

I held the position of trade marketing manager in the marketing department of Madame Vacances, one of France’s leading suppliers of holiday accommodations in France, Spain, Morocco and the Balearic Islands. 

I had responsibility for creating contracts, and maintaining contact with Tour Operators working in the German, Dutch, Belgian, and Scandinavian markets to ensure our products were well represented on these markets. This position allowed me to develop my knowledge of international business, my commercial awareness, my customer service skills and my French language proficiency. I was also responsible for facilitating our involvement in a number of large international marketing events including Grand Ski and Rendez-vous en France both based in France, ITB Berlin in Germany and Vakantibeurs in the Netherlands. Whilst working within Madame Vacances, I was also working closely with the Business Development Manager on a three-year renovation project of our products. Our first task was to manage a new venture called the Café del Mott: an ‘après-ski’ terrace bar and restaurant with the intention to develop the brand in the future by opening sister bars across the alps. This project was hugely exciting as it allowed me to follow a business plan from conception through to our successful opening in December 2013. Throughout the process I was asked to create a new brand, source materials and products, create press releases and promote brand awareness through social media sites.

This post involved promoting the Erasmus exchange scheme through the organisation of talks, presentations and marketing events for university students and school pupils. The post required well developed organisational and communication skills.

Acting as assistant to the Venue Logistics Manager my task was to aid in the strategic planning and operational delivery of venue logistics within Lords Cricket Ground and latterly Park Lane Hotels. My responsibilities included inventory checks, management of room conversion deadlines and supervision of deliveries and collections. During this post we had a very narrow time frame of implementation and so were constantly working to demanding time constraints. This was a post that demanded superior organizational, problem-solving and communication skills in order to produce world-class Olympic venues and allowed me to work effectively and productively in a team environment.
