I adore stories. Whether told onstage, onscreen, or face-to-face, storytelling has the potential to facilitate intimate social contact between people from different backgrounds. These connections promote empathy, and empathy, in turn, decreases prejudice. Stories have the ability to spark necessary social change. My foundation in acting taught me to approach every individual I meet as someone with dreams, struggles, and, above all, a story to share. My American Studies degree equipped me with the understanding that every individual exists within complex systems that empower some and oppress others. Through directing plays, leading student organizations, building a sales strategy for a membership club, providing case management services to folks with disabilities, and combating isolation/loneliness among senior citizens, I have practiced building relationships and designing projects with creativity and curiosity. I am determined to merge my adoration of stories and calling towards a career in social change. By listening and engaging with marginalized people, I’m working to uncover how my skills and passions align with the needs of the world. I thrive in mission-driven, innovative environments, somewhere at the intersection of arts, communications, community organizing, and social movement strategy. I am eager to meet anyone and everyone working to make the world a better place.
