This role involved working as part of a close teaching team in order to assist in the educational, social and emotional development of pupils from a variety of social backgrounds. The role included:• Planning and implementation of educational programmes for students, carrying out individual assessments and maintaining accurate progress records while adjusting levels of support to suit individual needs.• Planning and delivering a school-wide creative programme in order to promote cultural awareness, including arts and crafts, dance, sports and performance sessions. • Readily building professional relationships on all levels.In addition to this role, I was successful in securing a month-long teaching exchange position throughout April 2012 with a partner school, Nanping Experimental Primary School, in Chongqing, China. This project included:• Management of a cultural exchange programme, from initial proposal to project completion, with the aim of creating a connection between two schools and cultures. • Implementing communication systems between the two partner schools through which cultural values could be explored and promoted. • Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) to large classes (40+ children). Planning, evaluating and revising lessons and creative sessions for all abilities and ages.• Using initiative, adaptability and creativity to solve problems and overcome communication difficulties.
