I manage the PF2050 Tools to Market Programme which aims to make smarter, safer and more effective tools and technology available to the Predator Free 2050 community through investing in accelerated research and development by designers, scientists, inventors and engineers across New Zealand.The programme currently supports 10 innovation projects and collaborates with other Predator Free 2050 stakeholders to achieve the predator free goal.

Helping to make New Zealand Pest-free by designing innovative products & solutions to halt biodiversity decline.As a Project Manager at Goodnature my primary responsibility is to facilitate and optimise our Product Development team’s process and support them to maintain the customer focussed vision throughout development to delivery. I work closely with the lead technical engineer, lead designer and product owner to deliver projects completely, efficiently and collaboratively. I have worked on development projects ranging from 6 months to 5 years.In early inception of the product idea, I collaborate closely with our Management Team to understand the key problem or core value proposition, customer need, and market fit. I assist in the completion of a Stakeholder Brief which frames the scope of the project and is delivered to the development team. I then work with the development team through all steps of the design process from initial concept solutions and refinement of the design, all the way through to testing, production and product launch. I ensure critical cross-company collaboration and input happens when required. I tailor the process used to suit the project phase and team dynamic, often using a hybrid approach of Agile, Learning First and Rapid Learning Cycles principles.I lead the process and cadence of team sprints to drive momentum and facilitate larger team integration meetings to make key decisions rigorously and collaboratively. I manage detailed information as well as summarise the high level, reporting on timelines, status reports and risk registers to communicate the necessary information succinctly to the development team and stakeholders. As I am the point person for all our product development funders my role includes a large amount of relationship management through communication and information management.

In this role as Project Co-ordinator, I focused on facilitating the ‘initiatives’ project programme that achieves Goodnature’s mission and strategic objectives. This included working on new product developments through to release, existing product revisions, sales and marketing projects and internal systems improvement projects.My role within the projects included coaching and supporting the teams to ‘discover’ and execute well, supporting teams to upkeep and prioritise the work in the backlog, constantly looking 3-6 weeks ahead to foresee risks to delivery or resourcing and surface any potential blind spots, and to facilitate the most effective and efficient use of people across multiple projects.I monitored trends in work to ensure that the effort aligned with strategic priorities, and was responsible for identifying knowledge gaps & ensuring knowledge learned can be transferred across the teams & organisation.

This role involved working as part of a close teaching team in order to assist in the educational, social and emotional development of pupils from a variety of social backgrounds. The role included:• Planning and implementation of educational programmes for students, carrying out individual assessments and maintaining accurate progress records while adjusting levels of support to suit individual needs.• Planning and delivering a school-wide creative programme in order to promote cultural awareness, including arts and crafts, dance, sports and performance sessions. • Readily building professional relationships on all levels.In addition to this role, I was successful in securing a month-long teaching exchange position throughout April 2012 with a partner school, Nanping Experimental Primary School, in Chongqing, China. This project included:• Management of a cultural exchange programme, from initial proposal to project completion, with the aim of creating a connection between two schools and cultures. • Implementing communication systems between the two partner schools through which cultural values could be explored and promoted. • Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) to large classes (40+ children). Planning, evaluating and revising lessons and creative sessions for all abilities and ages.• Using initiative, adaptability and creativity to solve problems and overcome communication difficulties.
