At FloSports I’m a Senior Software Engineer II Tech Lead. I mentor, unblock other developers, prioritize tasks, assist with project planning, and full stack development. The company has experienced significant growth since I joined in 2016. Here is a list of things I’ve contributed to. The company acquired Trackwrestling.com which runs 90% of all wrestling events in the country. I lead numerous efforts to integrate Trackwrestling (TW) into FloSports platform. - Replaced payment processor- Migrated ~900K user accounts into FloSports- Assisted with migrating TW streaming to FloSports streaming platform- Architected and implemented event driven platform to sync data in near realtime (plus backfill) to another wrestling management system - 190M records were migrated from TW into another system and continue to sync in near real time - Created monitoring and alerting around the sync process- Integrated FloSports real time sports data library into TW that power stream graphics and allow fans to see score changes in real time.- Assisted with infrastructure upgrades (firewall, database, api)Played a key role in building a system to standardize sport related data that is integrated into multiple scoring systems for real time data (clock, score, stats, etc). The real time data is consumed by the fans from our website and mobile app.Full stack development (database, API, and UI). I've built an online event setup, registration, and management platform. This includes a dynamic and feature rich online registration system that can be used for multiple sports. These systems are built with MySQL, NodeJS (using NestJS), Typescript, and Angular v13. Designed a new api using NestJS that replaced an old PHP api. Endpoints were rewritten in the new api and cutover from the old via Fastly so they could be immediately rolled back if issues occurred.

I built Bracket Wrestling from the ground up to help wrestling tournaments with event setup, registration and bracketing. I was the sole developer and designer. Creating a simple user friendly interface was a high priority and a success as my #1 comment was "it's easy to use". Before joining FloWrestling (FloSports) Bracket Wrestling ran almost 60 tournaments in 10 different states.
