Rokhaya Ba is currently a Peace Corps Health Volunteer in Rwanda, driven by her passion for social justice. She actively contributes to the Peace Corps Rwanda community as a member of the Intercultural, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility Committee, promoting intercultural competency for both peers and host country nationals. Rokhaya leads discussions on diversity with compassion and respect.In her recent role as a Community Intern with Mental Health America, Rokhaya collaborated with Compeer Partners, local organizations, and government agencies to enhance mental health awareness as a vital aspect of overall wellness. Her efforts contributed to the development of the “Wrestling Mental Health Game Plan,” which aims to destigmatize mental health by providing undergraduate students with access to healthy coping mechanisms in partnership with Franklin & Marshall’s collegiate wrestling team.Overall, Rokhaya is committed to addressing social disparities that create barriers to health. She is eager to strengthen her skills to effectively tackle health inequities both in the U.S. and internationally through community engagement, and she welcomes connections with like-minded individuals.
