Rola Ashour is the Managing Partner and Cofounder of the Jeddah Adult and Child Therapy Centre (ACT Center). She is a licensed mental health practitioner, experienced psychotherapist, and a member of the Health Holding Company's committee board, as well as the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the British Psychological Association (BPA). Rola is also a certified Emotional Intelligence (EQ) coach.Rola holds Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Combined Social Sciences from the UK, as well as a Master's degree in Autism and Education from the University of Birmingham. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Psychology at UCL (London, UK), with an expected graduation date of September 2024. Rola is also a licensed psychotherapist from the Saudi Commission and is pursuing certifications in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Trauma therapy.In Saudi Arabia, Rola has worked as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, and family liaison at a center for children with autism. then she moved to work at the psychiatric ward in one of the leading hospitals for mental health. from there she moved to help establish the Counseling Center at Dar El Hekma College, where she also served as a counselor this eventually lead her to develop the Bachelor of Science in Psychology and become its director, until resigning in 2020 to focus on her PhD studies. Throughout her 15 years at Dar El Hekma, she was also a lecturer.Rola's background of being educated in different countries has given her a broad understanding of cultural differences, allowing her to combine Western teaching with an appreciation for local cultural values. As a Saudi woman, she is recognized for her work addressing the specific challenges faced by women in the country.Rola is married and the mother of four girls. She is fluent in Arabic, English, and French.
