I am responsible for the analysis of the financial results of the division. The role is independent of the conventional financial function within a company, in that I do not work in the Finance department. This is a senior role which entitles me to be a member of the division’s Exco. Subsequently, I also became a member of the company’s Exco. All financially related documents, e.g. purchase orders, expense claims, sales order packs, invoices need to be checked and approved by me before being processed. All un-budgeted expenses need to be assessed and approved by me before being authorised by the MD.I am responsible for the budgeting and forecasting function, which includes but is not limited to writing the budget report for review by the board of directors.The Logistics team which comprises 6 individuals report directly to me. The logistics team is responsible for the ordering and billing function within the organisation.My main aim was to drive costs down while maintaining a good performance level.
