About Roland Baumgartner

I am passionate Scientist with pioneer mentality. I love to develop and optimize new techniques and I am especially amazed by the cell engineering possibilities by CRISPR. I have a broad education with various techniques and experience with different model systems from Arabidopsis thaliana to Drosophila melanogaster to cell culture systems (human primary cells, iPSCs, ES, human cancer cells, Arabidopsis, Drosophila, mouse ES). My personal interests are characterized by various kinds of engineering and technics, e.g. I am collecting and restoring scooters from the 50s and 60s to near perfection.
