Vierjarig promotietraject met als onderwerp van onderzoek de wijze waarop de overheid tussen 1848 en 2015 de toegang tot gezondheidszorg voor burgers heeft uitgebreid, én daarbij probeerde greep te krijgen en houden op het weerbarstige zorgveld. Wat voor besturingsstrategiën of zelfs '-filosofiën' zijn er ingezet om de gezondheidszorg toegankelijk en tegelijkertijd beheersbaar te maken? Wat heeft er in het verleden gewerkt, en wat niet? Daarnaast onderwijs verzorgd: Medical Humanities, alsmede Gezondheidsrecht (mede-coördinator keuzevak Gezondheidsrecht voor tweedejaars geneeskundestudenten). Supervisor of the year-prijs ontvangen in 2019 van de studievereniging van GeneeskundeFour year PhD project on the evolving role of the relationship between government and the health care field in The Netherlands, between 1848 and 2015. What role did private and public parties come to play in the furthering of access to health care as a public goal? What strategies for 'governing' health care, its structure and its finance were employed in this period? Which were successful and which were not?
