In 2005, I decided to co-found the tea brand Mr. Jones with David Holscher. Mr. Jones offers its customers high-quality teas with a focus on both people and the environment. After completing my studies in Development Economics at the University of Amsterdam and working at a wholesale company specializing in glass and ceramics, I decided in 2005 it was time for a change. Together with my aforementioned friend and soon to be business partner, and driven by my love for tea, we started exploring the possibilities of creating a Fair Trade and organic tea brand. Over the years, we have learned and seen a lot at Mr. Jones, from plantations to production, from India to Japan. We prioritize quality and sustainability as our core values. All our teas are 100% natural, almost all our teas are organically grown, and whenever possible and relevant, Fair Trade certified. Equally important, our teas are single estate and grown on high-altitude plantations, and each type can be traced back to its specific origin.
