I'm currently earning some extra cash as a substitute teacher for the Highland Huskies in Ault and Pierce Colorado. I'm covering all subjects and all ages and having a blast with the variety and the creativity it takes to engage every new day at school.

-Designer-Builder -Code Research- Permit Documents -Plumber -Electrician -HVAC design and construction -Landscape design -Cabinets -Counter-tops -Structural reinforcement A part time design and construction project has kept my free-time busy for the past few years, but it has been a fun and educational experience. My Brothers and I bought a small house originally built about 100 years ago with a small addition added in the 30s or 40s. We began with demolition to get a sense of the bones and clean out anything nasty, and then I redesigned the flow of spaces, moving the kitchen, splitting the bathroom, removing a wall and reinforcing some compromised structure, moving/removing doors adding windows, rethinking HVAC and insulation, replacing windows, installing ductwork, removing and redesigning all plumbing and electrical... Yup... I've had fun. Currently I am working on finishing work... Cabinetry and shelving for kitchens and bath, all with a family member taking up residence as our first tenant. Soon I'll move focus externally to the yard and facade... we'll see where that takes me in whatever other "free time" I may have.

Fort Collins, Colorado Area

Summer Gig leading a crew of youth corps members into the foothills for various projects including trail building & maintenance, fence building, and invasive species eradication among others. A quick Gloat-Note: I recently got a report from the Larimer County Trails crew that the 1100' section of trail we built weathered the recent deluge and flooding with no significant erosion problems. That's good science, guiding good design, guiding good hard work toward excellent results!

During my graduate studies I worked a few summers with Tradesmen working on painting and construction work.

I worked directly with youth from the Colorado and Utah Juvenile Justice system within a wilderness setting in Western Colorado.

Tucson, Arizona Area

I volunteered with MVS for two years in Tucson. I worked with CHRPA performing repairs for low income homeowners in Pima county Arizona. Repairs included but were not limited too; HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Minor Structural repairs, and Design and Construction of Wheelchair ramps and other Accessibility Enhancements.
