As a Sr Manager of Architecture for Syniverse, I have had a broad range of responsibilities and projects. I enjoy working across organizational boundaries by fostering relationships, creating clear objectives and timelines, while fostering input and group consensus. One recent project was the North American data center migration project. Initially brought in as an individual contributor to migrate the PCN, I was eventually given responsibility for the entire DCM project along with Mary Cunnigham from the PMO organization. We were responsible for planning and coordination migrations across all lines of business and functional groups, including customer support, product owners, engineering, operations, field ops, and multiple vendors and consultants. We were responsible for reviewing and approving every move event to determine technical and organization readiness. We were able to bring the project in on time and on budget, for which Mary and I received the coveted Syniverse Pinnacle award!

As the primary systems architect for the messaging division of Syniverse I played key roles in the acquisition of the messaging group from Verisign. This included office migrations and consolidations as well as data center migration and consolidation of multiple platforms. Key factors for success in this environment is the ability to work closely with multiple groups and communicate effectively while fostering a friendly x-team environment.

As a Systems Architect for Verisign, I was able to continue my pursuit of technology working with several ASP products as well as high volume messaging applications as Enterprise Messaging, InterCarrier MMS (ICMMS), and the InterCarrier SMS (ICSMS) platform One of my accomplishments was a complete overhaul ICSMS platform while separating infrastructure from a divested business group. This was accomplished across diverse groups while keeping the systems running 24X7. This platform routinely processes 1.5 billion messages per day with 100% YOY growth.

As the operations manager for LightSurf I was able to take several ASP type products from inception to full production. Working closely with development to scale these systems from small pilot deployments to highly scalable, fault tolerant systems capable of meeting 99.99% availability. This was accomplished with a small cohesive team through the use of documentation, process, cross training, clear communication, and dedication. Large scale customers included Sprint, Verizion, ATT, Kodak, Telcom New Zealand, Rogers, and Bell Mobility.

Primary DBA for the company. Responsible for all Oracle databases and system administrator for all corresponding servers. Consolidation of additional divisions onto current system, install new modules (FA, PA, GL), responsible for y2k compliance, upgrade to Oracle 8.0.5 and Applications 11.03.
