    1: Administrative leader of a four year user-driven Research based Innovation (BIA) project on personalization of news. Norwegian consortium participants are NTNU, Adresseavisen and Cxense and also VTT from Finland. The project has a 4,5 million Euro budget. The main objective is to develop next generation's news recommendation for online news streams. The approach combines news articles' underlying semantics with large-scale analysis of heterogeneous user data. Linked open data is used to disambiguate and enrich entities recognized in news articles and relate them to extensive user profiles that are continuously updated on the basis of users' interaction with the system. Several mediahouses in Polaris Media company will participate. Most of the work on the recommender system itself is done by Cxense, a software company developing and selling user profiling and news recommendation services to the media industry all over the world. 2 Also board member of the steering commitee of BIA project OMEN: Organizing for Media Innovation aims at creating new insights on how to manage, organize and practice innovation and organizational development in companies infused with the traditions, practices and legacy of the newspaper industry. Overall, a key contribution of the project will be to investigate how innovation practices are constituted and enacted when their managing and organizing cannot be built upon more or less accurate forecasting or execution of design. Participants are Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Science and the Work Research Institute (AFI), norwegian mediehouses Sunnmørsposten, Nationen and Moss Avis and abroad associated universities in Sweden, Denmark and Australia. This project is running for four years.
