Joined as part of an IPO preparation, which turned into a big transformation of team and company.Managed a team of 6 FTE (legal counsels and support functions). The team is responsible for Corporate, Legal Operations, Compliance, Privacy and Employment matters. In addition, leading for the Legal team on the company's software development and strategy. Software: With subject matter experts, working on product development and strategy, e.g. regulatory compliance, payment regulations (PSD2/PSD3), energy laws (Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation), data enablement and data laws, commercial contracting, consumer laws.Legal Operations: enabling and supporting the wider Legal team to focus on value added work, by optimising processes and implementing tech where relevant. For example, setting up a Contract Lifecycle Management process and system (Ironclad), managing the Legal budget, tracking Legal spending and vendor management (e.g. law firms), optimising internal communication from Legal to other teams. Corporate: includes corporate structuring, finance, corporate housekeeping, M&A/IPO readiness and any related transactions, Corporate Governance and supporting the Company Secretary to the Supervisory and Management Boards.Compliance: Focussed on an Ethical Compliance program and related policies, training on compliance, and investigating ethical or whistleblower reports for potential breach of Code of Conduct or company policies. For example, by launching awareness campaigns on a wide range of compliance topics and working closely with other stakeholders such as HR and HSE.Privacy: Focused on the company's overall data privacy compliance, privacy by design, managing relevant requests and reporting.Employment: The team is first point of contact for employment law matters and certain HR policies, local employment law compliance, managing interactions with key stakeholders such as HR and the works council.

As a senior consultant, I assisted clients as legal counsel in the EMEA region on a wide range of projects, including legal operations, commercial/contractual matters, banking & finance and corporate.
