* Responsible for road crew support including recruitment, training, ongoing performance assessment, and 24-hour support for a team of 30-35 tour leaders throughout the region. Monitored all customer feedback and complaints. Undertook the communication and explanation of company policies or changes to all crew, office staff, and external stakeholders. * Devised and communicated new company-wide tour leader and driver recruitment policies and procedures, including writing recruitment and training manuals, standard operating procedures, and heading a company- wide recruitment and training group. * Oversaw the day-to-day operations for all tours within South and Central America working closely with hosts and partners. Dealt with issues raised in customer or staff feedback direct with service providers to ensure products remained at a high level. * Worked closely with the Fleet Manager and Destination Manager to deal with issues arising and ensure that all services were delivered to the highest standard. * Liaised with the S&M teams to ensure the most effective promotion of tours and new destinations. Communicated with the Canada, UK, and Australia sales offices daily to ensure questions, doubts, or concerns regarding the tours were answered. * Oversaw the completion and tracking of risk assessments for all services within the region and worked closely with the company insurer as required after serious incidents. * The sole responsibility for all aspects of the Rio Carnival packages for Tucan Travel including pricing, booking, and running the packages on the ground.

* Lead groups of up to 18 people on public transport in Central and South America over 14 countries to a maximum of 56 days. Lead groups of up to 34 people based on a large overland truck in Patagonia to a maximum of 21 days.* Successfully dealt with a wide range of injuries, illnesses and incidents suffered by passengers during tours.* Managed accounts, budgets and tour funds. Booked and paid for all accommodation and excursions, devised meal plans catering to specific dietary requirements and worked closely with the tour driver to ensure the maintenance of the truck and all the equipment used. In Central America reconfirmed hotel bookings and managed all transport and excursion bookings. * Researched and provided detailed briefings for each new destination, arranged optional activities and ensured the smooth running of all tours.* Worked with a huge range of tourists of all ages and backgrounds and operators in several different countries, some of whom spoke no English, all of which required excellent communication and organisational skills.
