🏨 From Marriott to Multifamily: My Journey in Hospitality and Real Estate 🏢I kick-started my career with the Marriott Corporation, where I honed my skills through their Management Training Program. As time went on, I delved into the dynamic world of hospitality real estate consulting, collaborating with industry giants like PKF, Deloitte, and E&Y. My expertise blossomed in operational strategies, market research, and financial analysis within the realm of hospitality-related real estate.In pursuit of my passion for transforming spaces, I founded Kent Group, a boutique Hospitality Consultancy with bustling offices in both Boston and Chicago.From 1998 to 2007, Chicago was my canvas, and I painted it with 12 groundbreaking hotels and conversions through various partnerships. Simultaneously, I took on third-party management responsibilities under the Axis Hospitality banner.The pivotal moment arrived in 2007 when I became deeply involved with a hotel portfolio management entity, eventually acquiring a majority stake in what would become the thriving Alliance Hospitality Management. In 2008, I orchestrated the merger of my existing Axis Hospitality portfolio and operations into Alliance and shifted our corporate headquarters to Raleigh. We had management of 70 hotels in 24 states and 4,000 employees. Fast forward to 2024, my entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well. Currently, I'm focused on a monumental project, the conversion of a Luxury Hotel into a vibrant 55+ active multifamily development.
