I created mobile phone demo applications and infrastructure at a research lab in the era before the iPhone, Google Maps and 3G/LTE. Most of these applications involved mapping and geofencing based on cell tower positions. In addition, I worked on internal tools to support team collaboration. The code was mostly J2ME on the phones and Python on the server, with some Symbian C++ and Microsoft C#.
