Current• Lead and mentor Compliance staff members’ workflow to ensure timely and accurate processing of annual unclaimed property filings. Compile data and provide reports regarding current unclaimed property statistics and projections. Review legislation, policies, and procedures to efficiently carry out state requirements for unclaimed property reporting.• Foster cooperation and interaction with state agencies clearly and confidently both orally and in writing.• Assist staff accountants with monthly reconciliation; coordinate the collection of unclaimed property records from multiple departments.• Attend the Unclaimed Property Professional Organization (UPPO) yearly conference to stay informed, and build relationships with holders, service providers and state agencies. Mentor new Compliance staff members in attendance. Member of the UPPO Conference and Seminars Subcommittee responsibilities included, attending monthly conference calls, and assisting with conference preparations with over 500 members in attendance.• Supervise Account Representatives’ daily performance and department work flow ensuring proper phone coverage. Monitor daily financial transactions, email requests and reports. Resolve complex issues such as escalated calls and system issues.• Handle department administrative duties including: payroll, interviews/hiring, scheduling, yearly appraisals, meetings and training.• Manage the creation and maintenance of Standard Operation Procedures. • Act as Unit manager for the Accounts and Compliance area in the absence of management. Complete project management activities as assigned.
