Aug 2003 - Aug 2016KFC Foundation Coordinator- Coordination of special events, outreach activities, public relations initiatives, communication calendar including writing articles for internal publications. Coordinate fundraising efforts, compile and prepare reports for tracking fundraising and donations. Assist with special projects and/or events. The majority of my time is spent working with the KFC Scholarship Program, REACH KFC Educational Grant Program,Rising Starts Program and REACH HIGH. The KFC Colonels' Scholarship is a scholarship that is granted to graduating high school seniors with entrepreneurial drive, strong perseverance, community involvement and in need of financial assistance, who want to pursue a college education at a public in state college or university. Once granted their scholarship I serve as their mentor throughout their collegiate career. Currently we have over 140 active KFC Colonel's Scholars and close to 400 graduates throughout the US. The REACH-KFC Educational Program is a $2,000 grant awarded to our KFC restaurant team members and shift supervisors annually. This year, 2015, we introduced the Rising Stars Program, granting $2,500 grants to those team members and shift managers who have been REACH Recipients and have maintained a 3.0 or above CUM GPA. In the Spring of 2014 we introduced the REACH HIGH Program which assist KFC restaurant team members and shift supervisors who did not graduate from high school, earn their high school equivalency certificate/GED.
