    I joined IMT Mines Albi in october 2018 as research engineer to work on NESSIE project (Novel Effcient Survey Ship initiativE). This project aims to design and build a new kind of ship made of composite materials and dedicated to scientific assignments. It is collectively funded by the french agency for environment and energy management (ADEME) and the ship builder iXblue.At the end / outcome of the project, the ship will be characterized by :•a modular architecture; •a reduced carbon footprint of the ship construction by the use of recycled composite materials; •a low petrol consumption due to the use of lightweight materials;•a smart structure for continual ship structural health monitoring.My work in the project :•Selecting the optical fiber sensors technologies that are the most suitable for ship structural health monitoring;•Determining the most relevant parts of the ship hull where the optical fiber sensors have to be installed;•Dreaming up schemes to include optical fiber sensors on structures by considering the technical restrictions on the work site.

    I worked at CAPACITÉS as R&D Engineer. I was responsible for design of new optical fiber sensors for the strain, temperature and curvature measurement. I contributed to the completion of several research projects, the most noteworthy projects are :●The I-MARECO project : it aimed to install several kinds of sensors (electrical, fiber optic and electro-chemical) within concrete beams for wharf monitoring at Saint Nazaire's port and mechanical characterization of concrete used for the construction of the wharf.In this project, I dealt with the numerical calibration of the resistivity sensors by using the finite element software COMSOL, I installed some sensors on-site and I carried out a few compression tests on concrete.●The project OMDYN : it aimed to come up with and develop new numerical and experimental protocols for the design and the characterization of submarine cables. The latter will be installed on offshore wind farms. This project involved several french big companies are such as EDF, DCNS and INNOSEA.In this project, I designed fiber optic sensors to measure the umbilical cable curvature and I drove pilot test programs to ensure proof of new concepts and technologies of fiber sensors.I also supervised 2 internships :●Study on the use of a Bragg fiber as fiber optic curvature sensor;●Statistical study of the response of long period gratings to temperature.
