R&D EngineerEasymile Nov 2020 - Jan 2023ToulouseMain projects:- Architect and develop a C++ library to implement Remote Procedure Calls between embedded computers using a custom protocol over a CAN bus. This involves a layer handling RPC logic, and another layer handling automatic encoding and decoding of CAN frames. Most of the encoding/decoding layer is automatically generated from a file describing the data contained in CAN frames.- Architect and develop a Python library handling the same tasks: RPC and encoding/decoding of CAN frames.- Coordinate with several teams to migrate our legacy CAN stack to our new custom protocol.- Maintain and improve Python tooling to facilitate every developer's work in the R&D team: setup the development environment, build, run and test our software.- Maintain and improve the Continuous Integration pipeline used by the R&D team: speed, reliability.- Work on the company middleware and model description language to replace the ROS middleware. -

The tool is written in C++ using the Clang libtooling framework.Details about the tool have been published at the 20th ERTS Conference in Toulouse. The paper "Make Life Easier for Embedded Software Engineers Facing Complex Hardware Architectures", which won the Best Paper Award in the "Embedded Computing and Networked Systems" category, is available in the publication section.Migration of company repositories from svn to git and GitLab.Work on the various toolchains used to cross-compile software modules in order to deploy them on various embedded processor architectures. -
Software DeveloperSpace Codesign May 2016 - Oct 2016Montreal, Canada AreaDesign and development of a Qemu extension to make it cycle accurate for the ARM v7 architecture (It accepts the three instruction sets Thumb, Thumb2 and ARM).The "time" reference of Qemu is then the number of cycles instead of the number of instructions. This tool, developed in C++, impacts the time execution of Qemu by less than 10%. -
