As a co-founder and Executive Director of IIBD, I recognized a critical gap in the availability of data on Black and equity-deserving communities. I felt that the onus was on me to take action and create a solution that would provide comprehensive data collection and visualization services to fill this gap. Through IIBD, I have been able to collect and analyze data on Black communities using various sources, including surveys, focus groups, and secondary sources. Our goal is to empower Black communities through data-driven solutions that inform decision-making and improve outcomes. Looking ahead, my aspiration is to see a future where data on race and equity is readily available and informs policies and practices that benefit marginalized communities. I believe that IIBD can play a significant role in this effort by continuing to provide high-quality data collection and analysis services, partnering with organizations and government agencies, and advocating for systemic change. I am committed to using my skills and expertise to drive positive change and create a more just and equitable society. I believe that together, we can create a better future for all, and I am excited to be a part of that journey.
